Would-Be Robber Tries To Rip Necklace From Pleasanton Woman's Neck

BREAKING: The suspect, who was last seen on foot, was never found and is still at large.

PLEASANTON, CA — Police are looking for a man who allegedly tried to grab a gold necklace from a Pleasanton woman’s neck late Monday night. The victim and a friend were walking through the apartment complex located at 4408 Mohr Ave. when the suspect allegedly approached them from behind. Police said the suspect, who was armed with a black handgun, tried to grab the jewelry off of the woman’s body after demanding the necklace. The suspect, who was not able to get the chain, fled the area on foot and was last seen eastbound on Mohr Avenue, according to police.

Officers responded to the area but never located the suspect. No one was injured during the incident.

The lone suspect is described as a black man in his 20s or 30s. He had short hair and weighed about 200 pounds. He was about 6 foot, 3 inches tall and was wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt and black pants.
