‘Chubby Cheeks’ Robber Holds Up AT&T Store in Rancho Bernardo

Two men allegedly robbed a Rancho Bernardo AT&T store Saturday night, making off with cash and a bag of items from the store, according to a police report.

The alleged robbery, at 11924 Bernardo Plaza Dr., occurred just after 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Two men came into the cell phone store, next door to a Starbucks in a shopping center, and demanded cash from a male employee in his mid-20s. One of the suspects was armed with a handgun, according to the report.

The suspects fled northbound on foot with cash and a bag of unspecified items from the store. No one was injured.

The first suspect is described as a 5-foot-9-inch tall heavyset black man with short hair and chubby cheeks weighing about 190 pounds. The second suspect is described as a 5-foot-10-inch tall and thin black man wearing dark clothing, weighing about 150-160 pounds.

The alleged robbery is under investigation.
