Accused Rancho Santa Margarita Man Charged With Child Molestation
A young Rancho Santa Margarita girl has accused a 70-year-old family member of repeated sexual abuse.

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — A girl who was sexually molested by a family member from the time she was age 4 through 11-years-old was vindicated Friday when her alleged molester was charged, the Orange County District Attorney's office has reported.
Santiago Rojas, a 70-year-old man, was charged Friday with sexually molesting his young female relative in Rancho Santiago Margarita and elsewhere in Orange County, according to Senior Deputy District Attorney Michael Carroll.
The molestation ended at the time the girl reached age 11 when she put a stop to it, Carroll said. The alleged victim came forward April 3 to authorities.

Rojas was charged with four felony counts of continuous sexual abuse of a child, according to court records. The dates of the abuse range from July 1994 through July 2000, according to court records.
Investigators gathered evidence from a covert call they eavesdropped on between the alleged victim and Rojas, according to court records.
