Rancho Santa Margarita House Fire Causes Major Damage
Sunday evening, a house fire in Rancho Santa Margarita sent up dark smoke on Orchid.

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — A house fire on Orchid in Rancho Santa Margarita sent up column of black smoke through the neighborhood.
Sunday, April 9 at approximately 7 p.m., Orange County Fire Authority appeared on scene with 30 firefighters and associated apparatus to battle the blaze.
"The fire was under control in about 20 minutes, with no injuries to the family or firefighters," OCFA Captain Larry Kurtz said.

The cause of the fire was ruled as accidental in nature according to Kurtz.
Damage estimates were $175,000 for the structure and $75,000 in personal property/contents, Kurtz said.
