Threat Won't Thwart Tesoro High School Graduation Ceremony

A text message between students, perceived as a threat, was deemed "non-credible" and graduation plans for Tesoro High School continue.

RANCHO SANTA MARGARTIA, CA — A threat against Tesoro High School was deemed not credible, according to the Orange County sheriff's investigators, Thursday. The senior class was scheduled to graduate Thursday evening.

The "out of context" social media conversation between two students started about a month ago, OCSD spokesperson Carrie Braun told Patch.

The texted conversation between Tesoro High School friends was "wrongly interpreted as a threat," Braun said. The incident was handled at the school, and the graduation ceremony was slated to continue, as scheduled.

"We're working with the school and the district to make sure all students and attendees at the graduation are safe," she said.
