A.K. Smiley Public Library to Host Free Employment Boot Camp in Redlands

The event is scheduled 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday July 26, said Smiley's adult services librarian Daniel Slota.

A.K. Smiley Public Library is sponsoring a free, 4-hour Employment Boot Camp on July 26.

The interactive workshop is for all job-seekers, including recent graduates, mid‐career changers, anyone who's been laid off or downsized, and those returning to a career after time away from the workforce, according to Smiley's adult services librarian Daniel Slota.

"Learn resume skills, interview techniques, and much more," an event flier states. Registriation is not required but attendees should plan to arrive early as seating will be limited.

Presenter Jamie Beck is a former career counselor for the California State University system, Slota said. She has a Master's Degree in Human Services with an emphasis in Social Systems and a concentration in Family and Work.

Beck has also worked for the California Department of Education and First 5 programs in the public and nonprofit sector, Slota said.
