Armed Robbery Reported in Front of Home on West Sun Avenue in Redlands

The incident reportedly occurred about 8:30 p.m. Dec. 11 in the 800 block of West Sun, just north of Interstate 10 near Texas Street.

An armed robbery was reported Tuesday night near Colton Avenue and Texas Street in Redlands and police were investigating, a city spokesman said.

A 55-year-old man was taking out trash in front of the house when he was approached by two men, Redlands spokesman Carl Baker said.

"One of the men displayed a handgun and demanded money," Baker said. "The robbers took the victim's wallet and cell phone and were last seen running toward Brockton Avenue."

One suspect was described as Hispanic, 18 to 20 years old, about 5 feet 4 inches tall, 120 to 125 pounds, skinny and clean-shaven, Baker said. He was wearing black pants and a T-shirt.

The other suspect was described as Asian or possibly Hispanic, 18 to 20 years old, 5 feet 5 inches tall, 160 pounds, Baker said. He had straight, shoulder-length, dark hair and a light mustache. He was wearing a gray jacket and dark pants.
