Continued Lies From The Anti-Gun Left

Can we please get one thing in the gun control debate clear... The liberals are lying about background checks in regard to online gun sales!

It has been Federal Law for years that the shipping of any online (or other personal sale) firearm SHALL be accomplished by the seller engaging a Federal Firearms Licensed (FFL) dealer to ship the firearm to an FFL dealer engaged by the buyer.

• The process starts with the seller's FFL receiving the firearm and listing it into an official record of inventory. It is then the FFL's responsibility to verify the firearm is not restricted or banned and may be legally shipped to the buyer's state.
• The shipping FFL is then required to provide the receiving FFL with a copy of the shipper's Federal Firearms License, local business license, and any state required documents/certificates of eligibility, retail/seller's tax ID, along with a full description of the firearm and serial number.
• Upon and only after the shipping FFL acquires the receiving FFL's same documents in return, the seller's FFL records the firearm's exit from inventory, noting the name & address of the FFL to which the firearm was shipped.
• And even then the firearm is specifically tracked by UPS or FEDEX all the way.
• Upon receiving the firearm the buyer's FFL enters the firearm into an official inventory record, noting the name & address of the shipping FFL.
• Finally, after the buyer completes the exact same paperwork as if the firearm was  being purchased from the receiving FFL, including any background check or waiting period required by the state of the buyer's residence....
• ONLY then may the FFL release the firearm to the buyer.

So any attempt to even suggest that "assault rifles" or any other guns purchased over the Internet are shipping willy-nilly across the nation, is simply the anti-gun left's propaganda at its worst level.

Just like the fear mongering predictions of the end of the world from Global Warming (or as it's now called... man made climate change), why does the left always endeavor to scare 'we the people' into accepting the loss of our constitutionally protected rights?

And by the way... Did you notice how the drone footage from the Boston Police drone's thermal camera clearly showed the bomber's body and movements? Now imagine a similar drone looking down on you in your home during an inanimate moment. Talk about a whole new definition for a peeping Tom... But I digress.

As I have stated before. As a retired FFL dealer I have and continue to support background checks for all firearms purchases. But there is a cost effective right way to do it efficiently. And there is a wrong way that violates civil rights and will not only cost our nation billions, but states and local municipalities "NON-REFUNDABLE" multiple millions of tax dollars to implement and enforce.

If the Obama (or any state) administration is serious about reforming and bringing about more efficient and constitutionally correct background checks... Then why haven't they gone to the one body that can not only tell them how to do it, but help get it passed with a majority from all parties? The NRA has long offered such help.

So what's Obama and the rest of the left waiting for?
