Sandra Fluke: Not My Kid!
A Redlands man expects to enjoy a good belly laugh this week when the Democrats showcase birth-control whiner Sandra Fluke at their presidential convention in North Carolina.
I think I would have failed as a parent if Sandra Fluke were my daughter.
It would be embarrassing enough that my kid would demand that someone else should pay for her birth control; whatβs worse is my knowing that I had sent my kid into the world with such a shameless sense of entitlement.
And now sheβs going to be the face of the Democrat Party at their convention next week. Senator Boxer β have you no shame?

At least watching the Democrats demand free birth control would be more entertaining than watching Obama again blame former President George Bush β has it been four years already? β for the sour economy.
Fluke gained fame earlier this year when she demanded β demanded! β that Georgetown University should pay for her birth control. She chose to attend the college knowing full well that that Catholic university, for religious reasons, did not believe in funding birth control.

Yet, her embarrassing sense of entitlement prompted her to go public.
What is it about single women that prompt them to think government is their husband? (Or boyfriend, father, grandpa or sugar daddy?) Married women donβt think that way. Government is government β a bloated, impersonal and overbearing monster of red tape that does far more harm than good.
I donβt want government as a partner of any kind; I want a bunch of tight-fisted curmudgeons to watch over my tax dollars and spend them wisely when absolutely needed.
I donβt understand why Fluke needed to whine publicly about birth control in the
first place; Iβm confident her personality is already fulfilling the same mission for free at Georgetown U.
When I attended the University of Florida in the early 1990s, I had the common sense to go buy my own rubbers; at no time did I ever consider asking anyone else to pay for it.
What was laughable was her claim that students pay $3,000 annually for birth control. Numerous press accounts showed that birth control pills could be found for as little as $10 a month near Georgetown campus in Washington, D.C.
My ornery thought at the time was, βWhat kind of sex are they having at Georgetown that requires $3,000 in birth control?β
Conventions usually close with a balloon drop. I think the Democrats, to stay in theme with Fluke being center stage, should consider dropping air-filled rubbers instead of balloons at their convention in North Carolina next week.
Fluke could save $3,000!
