Thanksgiving a time of reflection and celebration
It's this time of the year again. The interval between Thanksgiving and Christmas is such a wonderful time.

It's that special time of the year--Thanksgiving. I love this time of the year. Decorations are put up out the front of many homes, Barton Road between Mountain View and past Anderson is decorated, and many of the radio stations play holiday season and Christmas seas music. Kids dance in the cold as they play outside, their breath giving off clouds of vapor!

Thanksgiving also brings up varied memories and family traditions. Home cooked meals and large family get-togethers is what many people have and it is so wonderful (as long as differences can be set aside-- you know, families can be so so complex!!) Thanksgiving is also for many, a reminder of anniversaries, some of which co-mingle with both joy and pain. And then there are those who don't have anything, may live alone, and it can be such a lonely time. Although Thanksgiving is usually a family tradition, if you know of anyone who is alone, how about reaching out to them. It could be your neighbor, a shut in nearby, or even the local shelter...
In a nutshell, Thanksgiving provides opportunity for a time of quiet reflection upon the past and an annual reminder that God has again been ever so faithful with His bountyful blessings.

" As we reflect, (during this time of the year) the solid and simple things of life are brought into clear focus so much so that everything else upon reflection, may just fade into insignificance." "Seeds of Life" p. 578
Blessings on this special time of the year.
