"Cash for Criminals" in Redlands on Saturday

β€œFiring Line” radio host Phillip Naman will spearhead a β€œCash for Criminals” drive in Redlands on Saturday near the Stater Bros. grocery store where the city’s police department will conduct a β€œgun buy-back program,” Naman announced Thursday night.

β€œIt’s offensive to any thinking citizen to blame criminal actions on inanimate objects while avoiding the true source of the problem, which is the criminals --stupid,” Naman said.

The public can earn money by offering information leading to the apprehension of fugitives as well as selling firearms, Naman said.

A fugitive recovery agent and a federal firearms licensed dealer will accompany Naman. Paul Schrader, a candidate for San Bernardino County Sheriff in 2014, said he would also attend.

Gun-rights supporters are also encouraged to attend.

Naman, of Redlands, is the host of the β€œFiring Line Radio Show” heard Saturdays, 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., on AM 590 The Answer. Portions of Saturday’s even will be recorded for future broadcast. Naman is a pro-Second Amendment advocate as well as a former cabinet member of the Redlands Tea Party Patriots. He is also a fierce media critic.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is sponsoring Saturday’s gun buy-back program. Redlands is one of six locations within the county.

On Thursday night, Naman said β€œCash for Criminals” was specifically timed to coincide with the β€œgun buy-back” program at the Stater Bros., 11 E. Colton Ave., at the corner of Colton Avenue and Orange Street. Naman’s drive is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon while the nearby gun buy-back program is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

β€œWe chose this spot to offer people an alternative,” Naman said. β€œAnd we’re not wasting any Prop 30 money.”

Naman said Prop 30 supporters falsely sold the measure to voters to 2012 as an education-only tax. Instead, he said, it’s also being used to buy guns.

Naman also objects to a rash of gun-control legislation being approved in Sacramento. To show his disapproval, Naman’s group will offer copies of the US Constitution as well as pro-Second Amendment bumper stickers.
