
San Bernardino, Calif. -Β For those who missed it in theaters and those who simply must see it again, the latest film adaptation of βThe Great Gatsbyβ will be screened for free to the public at Cal State San Bernardino on Thursday, Aug. 22, at 8 p.m. on the lawn of the John M. Pfau Library.
Baz Luhrmann directed this most recent adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgeraldβs 1925 classic novel, which boasts an all-star cast and groundbreaking soundtrack compiled by Jay-Z.
The story follows Nick Carraway, an aspiring writer, who recounts his experience with his millionaire neighbor Jay Gatsbyβs tragic romance with his cousin Daisy in 1920s New York.

Leonardo DiCaprio stars as Gatsby alongside Tobey Maguire as Nick, Carey Mulligan as Daisy, Isla Fisher as Myrtle and Joel Edgerton as Tom.
The film will be projected on a 10-foot tall inflatable movie screen, ensuring that everyone will have a great view on the library lawn.

Moviegoers are encouraged to bring family and friends, along with blankets and snacks to accompany them on a relaxing summer night.
There will also be food trucks at the event, including Cajun food, hot dogs and snow cones.
Moviegoers are invited to dress the part for the screening, wearing their roarinβ twenties duds for βGatsby.β
The screening is the second of the βfree movie nightsβ and is sponsored by the Pfau Library. Previously, the library screened the Jackie Robinson biopic β42β in July.
