Economics Professor to Detail Polices at Meeting

Dr. Dorene Isenberg, a former department chair at the University of Redlands, will be the featured speaker for the Redlands Area Democratic Club on Saturday.

The nation's economic woes may not be a reaction to current policy shifts, a University of Redlands economics teacher plans on telling the Redlands Area Democratic Club.

Dr. Dorene Isenberg, the school's former economics department head, and still a professor at the university, will give a talk titled "Our Walk on the Wild Side: Neo-liberalism Unleashed" at 1 p.m. as part of the group's monthly meeting at .

According to the group's preview of the speech, Isenberg will show how today's economic problems can be traced to a change in ideology about 40 years ago that are causing the issues today, and delaying recovery from the Great Recession.

The group will have its monthly general meeting after a question and answer session with Dr. Isenberg. Those wishing to eat are asked to arrive no later than 12:15 p.m. so they can be finished and settled in before the speech.
