Loma Linda and its Neighbors Walloped by Gas Prices

As the unrest in the Middle East continues, the price of gas in Loma Linda and the Inland Empire has either hit or is nearing $4 for regular.

“As we get closer to the $4 a gallon mark, it’s interesting to note that average prices are becoming much closer between all the cities in California, even though there is usually at least a 15-cent gap in average prices between the lowest- and highest-priced areas,” Auto Club spokesperson Jeffrey Spring said in a news release from March 3.

Southern Californians are now paying almost the same at the pump as motorists in Hawaii after a run-up of more than 20 cents in most local areas over the past week, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California’s Weekend Gas Watch.

Typically Californians pay less for gas than Hawaii and Alaska, automobile club officials said.

The average price of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire is $3.876 per gallon, which is 15 cents higher than last week and 84 cents more than last year.
