Loma Linda Community Reeling From Theft of Memorial Day Wreath
Someone has made off with the wreath placed at a Bryn Mawr park in observance of Memorial Day.

The residents of Bryn Mawr are still reeling Tuesday after learning of the theft of a wreath left at Bryn Mawr Veterans Memorial Park in honor of the men and women who have served in the military.
It has become a tradition to lay a wreath near the park's monument sign on a hill that overlooks the park, said Fred Ramos, a long-time resident who tracks the history of Bryn Mawr and is a member of the Loma Linda Historical Commission.
Ramos and members of his family have made it their mission to remember those from the small community of Bryn Mawr who served their country.

As in past years, they placed the wreath in the park, at Juanita and Mayberry streets, on Friday to allow people to come by over the weekend. But on Saturday morning, Ramos’ aunt stopped by and discovered it was gone, he said.
“Here we are, trying to honor the people who died for us and they steal the wreath,” Ramos said.

It had been a nice sized wreath placed on a stand, he said. Ramos said they will be contacting the city to see if the surveillance cameras were working to try and catch the thief, Ramos said.
