• Loma Linda Man Killed In Fiery Interstate 10 Crash (patch.com) — Redlands-area drivers are learning more about a deadly multi-vehicle crash on westbound Interstate 10 near Mountain View Avenue that left a 28-year-old Loma Linda man dead and four others injured. Redlands and Loma Linda fire crews, along with the California Highway Patrol, battled a fully engulfed vehicle, treated victims, and shut down most westbound lanes for about three hours while the cause of the collision remains under investigation.
   

• Kingsmen Smoke Bulldogs, Defend the Smudge Pot (cluecho.com) — University of Redlands football fans saw the Bulldogs fall 40-14 to Cal Lutheran in this year's Smudge Pot rivalry, despite striking first and tying the game early in the second half. Missed field goals and late turnovers doomed Redlands as the Kingsmen reeled off 26 unanswered points, highlighted by big passing plays and a long fumble return touchdown.
   

• Three Workers Killed in Tractor-Trailer Crash in Calif. I-10 Work Zone (enr.com) — A tractor-trailer crash in an I-10 construction zone near Blythe killed three workers and seriously injured the 44-year-old driver from Redlands. The early-morning collision, part of a major Caltrans rehabilitation project, remains under investigation, with officials emphasizing the role of safety equipment like truck-mounted attenuators in protecting highway work crews.
