• Author of historical novel 'Lincoln's Angel' will speak at Redlands library (redlandsdailyfacts.com) — Redlands residents can hear Civil War novelist DL Fowler discuss his book "Lincoln's Angel" at a free program Sept. 26 in the A.K. Smiley Public Library's Assembly Room. Hosted by the city's Lincoln Memorial Shrine, the talk will explore nurse Rebecca Pomroy's connection to the Lincoln family, with books available for purchase and a signing afterward.
   

• Inland college football roundup: RCC wins showdown between top-ranked teams (fresnobee.com) — University of Redlands football fans saw the Bulldogs drop to 0-2 after a 33-14 home loss to Whitworth at Ted Runner Stadium, where Redlands was shut out in the second half.
