• Museum of Redlands to open Oct. 24 after 26-year effort (communityforwardredlands.com) — Redlands residents will soon have a new free Museum of Redlands downtown, opening Saturday, Oct. 24, in the renovated former Redlands Daily Facts building on Center Street. The city-backed project, decades in the making, will showcase 13 exhibits on local history, from citrus and Chinatown to firefighting and film, plus an interactive flight simulator over Redlands landmarks.
   

• Friends of A.K. Smiley Public Library will host book launch for Redlands author (redlandsdailyfacts.com) — A Redlands author is celebrating her new Regency romance with a free book launch Tuesday, Sept. 22, at the Contemporary Club on Eureka Street. You can hear Tracy Wise speak, listen to a reading, ask questions, and get books signed while enjoying light refreshments, making this an easy midweek outing close to home.
   

• Live Oak Canyon Pumpkin Patch near Yucaipa opens for fall fun (redlandsdailyfacts.com) — Families in and around Redlands can dive into fall at the Live Oak Canyon Pumpkin Patch, just off the 10 Freeway near the Redlands–Yucaipa border. Open daily with dozens of rides, a giant corn maze, and a new Haunted Hollow walk-through on weekend nights starting Oct. 2, the long-running farm offers easy seasonal fun within a short drive.
