• Redlands man killed in hit-and-run on I-10 (communityforwardredlands.com) — A 27-year-old Redlands resident, Christian Gillespie, was killed in a hit-and-run along westbound I-10 near the SR-210 transition in Redlands, and CHP investigators are still searching for the driver. Officers say he was found dead at the scene on Sept. 2 and are urging anyone who saw anything to contact the San Bernardino CHP office with information. 
• Redlands' 'Liberty's Legacy' to explore Declaration of Independence's influence on U.S. history (sbsun.com) — Redlands residents can attend a free keynote by historian Jon Meacham and a paid symposium at the University of Redlands exploring how the Declaration of Independence shaped U.S. history. The late-September "Liberty's Legacy" program includes national scholars, requires advance registration, and concludes with a reception at Redlands' Lincoln Memorial Shrine, offering locals a rare, high-profile history event close to home.
