The Environmental Protection Agency reported Tuesday that trace amounts of radiation were registered on monitors placed in those three, according to several news reports.

One monitor in Washington registered higher than normal amounts as well, reported KTLA.com

"The radiation levels detected on the filters from California and Washington monitors are hundreds of thousands to millions of times below levels of concern," the EPA said Tuesday.

The EPA is stressing there is no reason for concern adding that residents are exposed to higher levels of radiation through everyday sources such as rocks and the sun, KTLA reported.
