Redlands Community Hospital Has 27 Physicians on U.S. News 'Top Doctors'
The goal of U.S. News Top Doctors is to help consumers find top area specialists and primary care physicians who can best address their specific medical needs, according to the news magazine.
A total of 27 Redlands Community Hospital physicians and surgeons have been named to U.S. News & World Report's listings of Top Doctors, a spokeswoman for the hospital said Tuesday.
The goal of U.S. News Top Doctors is to help consumers find top area specialists and primary care physicians who can best address their specific medical needs, according to the news magazine.
Redlands Community Hospital physicians named as Top Doctors include those in orthopedic surgery, general surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, internal medicine, psychiatry, radiology, pathology, urology, pulmonology, ear, nose and throat, pediatric medicine, cardiology, oncology, dermatology and rheumatology, according to RCH spokeswoman Nikyah Pfeiffer.

Nationwide, the U.S. News & World Report Top Doctors listings cover 75 specialty areas and include more than 28,000 physicians, according to the news magazine.
In 2011, 20 physicians on staff at Redlands Community Hospital were named to the listings. The news magazine's listings were updated last week.

Top Doctors listings are based on research compiled by Castle Connolly Medical, Ltd., publishers of America's Top Doctors and other guides, according to U.S. News & World Report.
The criteria is based on nominations submitted by other doctors and reviewed by Castle Connolly's physician-led research team.
No physician can nominate themselves to the list, nor can they pay to have a
listing, according to U.S. News & World Report.

their peers," James Holmes, president and CEO of Redlands Community Hospital, said in a statement.
"Each and every one of our medical staff members go above and beyond each day to ensure the best care for their patients and are tireless in their commitment to the community as a whole," Holmes said.
