Redlands PD Investigate Another Hilltop Burglary Attempt: 'Following All Leads'

Officers were alerted to the break-in attempt by an alarm call about 10:30 a.m. Dec. 10. A witness reported seeing a brown van with a white or Hispanic female driver and a white male passenger.

Police are investigating a residential burglary attempt Monday morning on Hilltop Drive in the hills of east Redlands, a city spokesman said.

Officers were alerted to the break-in attempt by an alarm call in the 12000 block of Hilltop about 10:30 a.m. Dec. 10, Redlands spokesman Carl Baker said.

"A window to the home was smashed but no entry made and nothing taken," Baker said.

It's possible the alarm scared the burglar off, Baker said. A witness reported seeing a brown van with a white or Hispanic female driver and a white male passenger.

"Police are investigating and following all leads," Baker said.

There were two other break-ins reported Monday afternoon on Huron Street in Loma Linda and on Bermuda Drive in Redlands, and two men were arrested in Redlands, Baker and sheriff's deputies said.

Investigation of the Huron Street and Bermuda Drive burglaries were also continuing, Baker said.

Early Nov. 27, a man was found hiding in bushes and arrested on suspicion of another burglary in the 12000 block of Hilltop Drive. Robert Wayne Harris, 22, of Yucaipa, remained behind bars Wednesday morning on bail of $125,000, according to inmate records.
