
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. β Laying on the cool grass on a hot summer night and listening to good music is a perfect night for most everyone.Β
Cal State San Bernardino will provide at least the cool grass and good music (weather is so unpredictable) when it will host its annual free Summer Wednesdays concert series for five consecutive weeks in July.
Summer Wednesdays opens July 3 with The Latin Society. The group has been well known in the Inland Empire and Southern California for 37 years. The Latin Society keeps its music upbeat with rhythmic melodies.

The Best of Everything is known for expertly performing a variety of genres. On July 10, the group will perform some of its hit songs such as βNight Trainβ and βSway.β
Powerflex 5 is a psychobilly, ska and punk surf band.Β Playing upbeat tunes, Powerflex 5 will perform on July 17. The group describes its sound as βElectric Gumbo.β Powerflex 5 will also release a new CD soon.Β

Desperado, a tribute band that covers the music of the Eagles, is said to be an almost exact replica of the band. The groupβs performances will consist of Eagles hits, including βHotel California and many others.βΒ
On July 31, the Coyote Radio Best of the Bands contest winner and runner up will close Summer Wednesdays.Β
CSUSBβs Summer Wednesdays concerts begin at 7 p.m.Β Β
Parking for Summer Wednesdays is free in parking lot D and concert-goers are encouraged to bring a picnic basket, lawn chairs and be prepared for a good time. The concerts take place outside CSUSBβs Lower Commons. There will be concession stands as well.Β
