Two Redlands Firefighters Promoted
Firefighters Reginald Brown and Damion Pelonis were promoted Aug. 30 to the rank of engineer during a ceremony.

The Redlands Fire Department has promoted two firefighters to the rank of engineer, a city spokesman announced.
Reginald Brown and Damion Pelonis were promoted Aug. 30 during a ceremony at Station 1 in downtown Redlands.
Acting Fire Chief Scott MacDonald presented badges and new helmet shields to Brown and Pelonis, Redlands spokesman Carl Baker said.

Brown began his fire service career in May of 2000 as a firefighter and squad boss on the United States Forest Service Del Rosa Hotshots hand crew, Baker said.
Pelonis started pursuing a career in the fire service when he joined the Riverside City Fire Department Explorer program in 1991, Baker said.
"Family members joined each of the newly promoted engineers and pinned the new badges to their uniforms," Baker said.
