$11M Warrant Out For 'Armed & Dangerous' Peninsula Man

BREAKING: Police say the "armed and dangerous" man is wanted for a recent shooting in Menlo Park.

MENLO PARK, CA — An astounding $11 million warrant has been issued for the arrest of a man who is accused of shooting a man "numerous" times and leaving him for dead in a marsh. Dagoberto Franco-Penaloza, who is also known as Gustavo Torres, is sought in connection to the attempted murder of a 29-year-old Menlo Park man, police said Thursday.

The shooting happened back on Nov. 22 at 5:15 p.m., according to police. Officers responded to the marshland between Bayfront Expressway and University Avenue and found a victim suffering from gunshot wounds to the legs, arms and torso.

The victim was transported to the hospital where he remained as of Thursday, listed in stable condition, police said.

Detectives responded to the scene, interviewed witnesses and have now identified Franco-Penaloza as the shooting suspect.

"Franco-Penaloza has ties to Menlo Park and East Palo and is to be considered armed and dangerous," police said in a news release. "Menlo Park Police have obtained a $11 Million dollar warrant for Franco-Penaloza’s arrest."
