2 CHP Officers Hospitalized In Redwood City Crash

BREAKING: The officers were doing better as of Thursday afternoon, the CHP says.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — Two California Highway Patrol officers have been hospitalized Thursday following an early morning crash in their patrol vehicle in Redwood City, officials say. The crash happened around 3 a.m. on the southbound side of U.S. Highway 101 near Woodside Road.

CHP Officer Art Montiel says the two officers, who have not been identified, were responding to assist another unit when the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the highway's center divide. They had to be cut free from the wreckage and were taken to Stanford Hospital with injuries described as mnior.

Montiel said that both officers were doing okay later Thursday. They have both since been released from the hospital.
