229 Firefighters At Skeggs Fire In Steep, Heavily Vegetated Area Of Peninsula
BREAKING: The latest on a fire burning in a remote part of San Mateo County.

WOODSIDE, CA — More than day after a lightning-sparked fire broke out near Woodside, officials say the size remains the same as it did as of Tuesday night. The so-called Skeggs Fire is estimated to be 50 to 60 acres in size and it's considered 10 percent contained.
The Skeggs Fire was first reported around 7:45 p.m. Monday, according to Cal Fire. It's burning in the hills near Skyline Boulevard and Bear Gulch Road and after flaring up a bit on Tuesday, fire officials say there was no significant spread overnight as they work to extinguish all hot spots.
"Firefighters continue to make progress building containment lines in a remote, steep and heavily vegetated area of San Mateo County near the Town of Woodside," an incident report from Calfire stated Wednesday. "Fire activity has slowed significantly overnight. Additional resources have arrived at scene."
