Deadly Crash Reported On Highway 101

BREAKING: A car went off the roadway and hit the center divider in the Peninsula wreck, the CHP reports.

A fatal crash has been reported on northbound U.S. Highway 101 in Sunnyvale Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The solo car crash was reported shortly after 7 a.m. on northbound Highway 101 near the North Mathilda Avenue off-ramp.

A car went off the roadway and hit the center divider. The Santa Clara County medical examiner's office was called to the scene because the lone occupant in the car died, CHP Officer Eric Anderson said.

The crash has prompted the closure of the far left northbound lane of the highway, according to the CHP. However all lanes were reopened by 10:19 a.m., according to CHP logs.
