The redwood city library foundation in association with círculo cultural and federación jaliciense are pleased to invite you to join us as we celebrate ¨day of the dead - dia de los muertos”

“Día de los Muertos” is an important Mexican holiday with roots in both ancient Aztec and Christian beliefs. Starting at dusk on October 31st and lasting through Novembers 1st (All Saint Days) and 2nd (all Souls Days) the holiday is about honoring the dead ancestors and loved ones. To celebrate, cemeteries are cleaned and decorated, special food is prepared and home altars are created. It is a day of joy and festivity, a holiday of remembrance.
