Commercial Truck Caught Fire On SR-35, Creating Spectacle: CHP

All lanes on SR-35 near highway 92 should open by about 10:30 a.m., after a commercial truck fire with a debris container caught fire: CHP.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — All southbound lanes of State Route 35 are due to be open soon after a commercial vehicle caught fire off highway 92, sending an onslaught of crews to the scene in Redwood City Wednesday morning, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The 3-axle truck was carrying a debris container. It's unknown what the cause of the fire was, CHP added.

Firefighters with the San Mateo County Fire Department and Cal Fire assisted the California Highway Patrol in responding to the incident located about 100 feet south of the State Route 92 interchange. The fire was called in at 7:28 a.m., according to Cal Fire's Twitter feed.

San Mateo County reported as of 9:51 a.m. that the fire was extinguished.
