Kittens Rescued From Redwood City Construction Site Now Available For Adoption
"Despite a rough beginning, this fluffy trio is healthy, active and ready for their forever homes," shelter officials say.

BURLINGAME, CA – Three kittens that were trapped inside a boom lift in Redwood City and rescued by Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA (PHS/SPCA) staff are now available for adoption. The kittens were rescued on May 1.
“Despite a rough beginning, this fluffy trio is healthy, active and ready for their forever homes,” said PHS/SPCA Communications Manager Buffy Martin Tarbox. “They were lovingly cared for in our Kitten Nursery and then by a dedicated foster care volunteer.”
The three kittens, named John, Wendy and Peter by PHS/SPCA staff (as a nod to Peter Pan) were found trapped inside a boom lift this past May. A boom lift is a four wheeled vehicle with a telescopic basket on the end that can lift workers high into the air for maintenance or construction. PHS/SPCA staff used a portable inspection camera to determine where inside the boom lift the kittens were and then used a modified bird net to remove them one, by one from the equipment to safety.

PHS/SPCA adoption center is located at 1450 Rollins Road in Burlingame and is open for adoptions Monday throughFriday from 11 am to 6 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm.
