Local Author and Illustrator Gives Books to Hoover Students

Lucky volunteers had their picture drawn with their favorite animals.

Author and Illustrator Hector Viveros Lee read his very own masterpiece: I Had a Hippopotamus. And with the support of The Friends of the Library, children were able to receive their very own free copy.

To draw Hoover students and their families into his imaginative animal world, Viveros Lee picked volunteers. Well-behaved students were able to pick their friends, name their favorite animal and get their very own cartoon drawn. In spirit with the name of the book, students had a _____ (animal), but gave it to their friend ______, recognizing the joy of giving beloved gifts to friends.
