Peninsula Drive-by: Man Shot While Sitting in Parked Car, Police Say
The suspects are outstanding.

SAN MATEO, CA — San Mateo police are searching for whomever is responsible for the shooting of a 24-year-old local man who was apparently just sitting in a car when the incident, believed to be isolated, happened.
According to the San Mateo Police Department, the incident came to their attention when the man showed up at a local hospital with a gunshot wound on Friday night. Officers responded to the medical facility and learned the man was fired at while seated in a vehicle in the 600 block of Rand St.
The suspect then fled the area right away in a vehicle, police said.

"Upon notification of the incident, officers flooded the area to conduct a canvass for the suspect vehicle, witnesses, and evidence," police said in a news release. "SMPD Detectives are currently investigating this case and believe this to be an isolated incident."
