Peninsula DUI 'Saturation Patrols' Planned This Weekend
Officers will take to the streets to nab those suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

MENLO PARK, CA – Peninsula residents are being warned of an upcoming anti-DUI operation planned for this weekend.
The San Mateo County Police and Sheriff Association is coordinating the DUI saturation patrols within the two communities of Menlo Park and Atherton. Officers from both Menlo Park and Burlingame police departments will help out Saturday night, according to agency officials. The patrols will get started at 6 p.m. and last through 2 a.m.
"Officers will be looking for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment with officers checking drivers for proper licensing delaying motorists only momentarily," Burlingame Police Sgt. Jim Ford said in a news release. "When possible, specially trained officers will be available to evaluate those suspected of drug-impaired driving, which now accounts for a growing number of impaired driving crashes."
