Peninsula Fire Sparks Traffic Delays On Hwy 101
CHP logs indicate flames were visible from the highway.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — A fire near a Peninsula freeway caused traffic issues in Redwood City on Monday morning, the CHP reported. The fire was reported around 8:15 a.m. next to the northbound side of Highway 101 near the Woodside Road offramp.
Preliminary reports from the California Highway Patrol indicated a telephone pole was on fire, and white smoke and flames were visible. The agency closed down the Seaport Boulevard offramp around 9:45 a.m. as a result.
The Redwood City Police Department later alerted area residents that the area road was closed while repairs were made to the pole.
