REDWOOD CITY, CA — One person was nabbed on suspicion of DUI during the local CHP's latest sobriety checkpoint, officials tell Patch. Another five drivers were ticketed for various offenses.

The operation was held from 7 p.m. Thursday until 1 a.m. Friday along El Camino Real, just south of 5th Avenue, according to CHP Officer Jarrett Tutthill. A total of 404 vehicles were screened in the operation.

"It is the Department’s goal to use this enforcement tool to assist with the reduction of injury and fatal collisions that are caused by impaired drivers," the CHP said prior to the operation.
