Redwood City Fire Rips Through Apartment Complex
Fire officials shared an image of part of the aftermath.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — A Redwood City apartment complex sustained major damage in a weekend fire, officials reported. The blaze ripped through multiple floors and multiple units in the Saturday blaze, according to the Redwood City Fire Department.
The two-alarm fire was reported at 3:59 p.m. at 2411 Middlefield Road, according to San Mateo County fire officials. Redwood City fire officials reported the fire controlled at 4:42 p.m.
An image that the fire department shared on Twitter, which can be viewed above, shows serious exterior damage to the building.

Officials have not said whether anyone was injured or displaced. The cause is under investigation.
Middlefield Road from Woodside Road to Fair Oaks Lane was closed for several hours as a result of the fire.
