Redwood City Hazmat Scene Ends With Minor Injuries

Fire officials said household chemicals sparked the incident.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — A person suffered minor injuries due to an interaction between household chemicals Tuesday morning in Redwood City, according to firefighters.

The hazardous-materials situation was reported at 10:54 a.m. in the 1100 block of Katherine Avenue, Battalion Chief Dan Abrams said.

"In the end it was fine, just a little chemical reaction," Abrams said.

The victim suffered a minor burn but refused treatment and was not taken to a hospital.No firefighters were injured while responding to the call.
