Redwood City Man Fired Gun Through Mother's Door: Cops
Deputies arrived at the home and found a man in possession of a stolen gun.

REDWOOD CITY, CA -- A 46-year-old Redwood City man was arrested after he allegedly fired a gun through a door at his mother, San Mateo County sheriff's deputies reported. Deputies responded to a home in the 500 block of Hurlingame Avenue at 6:40 p.m.
Deputies arrived at the home and found a man in possession of a stolen gun. They detained the man, who was identified as Juan Francisco Garcia.
An investigation found that Garcia had an argument with his mother and threatened to kill himself, sheriff's deputies said. Garcia allegedly fired rounds through a bedroom door after his mother barricaded herself for
safety.

Garcia's sister arrived and sheriff's deputies said he pointed a gun at her and threatened to kill her.
Two children were in the house when the shooting happened, but Garcia eventually put down the gun and there were no injuries reported, according to the sheriff's office.

Garcia was arrested on suspicion of multiple misdemeanors and felonies, including assault with a firearm on a person, shooting in an inhabited dwelling, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, unlawful
possession of ammunition, possession of a stolen firearm and false imprisonment.
He was booked into San Mateo County Jail.
