RWC Council Backs Monument Supporting Racial Justice: Report
The city's staff and its Art Commission will develop a plan for the mural with input from the community, Climate Online reports.
REDWOOD CITY, CA — Redwood City’s City Council has adopted a resolution in support of Black Lives Matter that calls for initiating a public process for the creation of a monument dedicated to racial justice, Climate Online reports.
The city’s staff and its Art Commission will develop a plan for the mural with input from the community, the report said. The Art Commission will then take its recommendation to the City Council for approval according to the report.
The move follows a controversy over the removal of a Black Lives Matter mural on Broadway last month.
