VIDEO: Flamingoes in Your Yard? It’s for the Redwood City School for Deaf Children
Menlo Park parents start an odd fundraiser that isn't your average bakesale.
Woken up to ostentatiously neon pink flamingoes on your lawn? It’s Kelli Agnich’s out-of-the-box way of fundraising for her daughter Landry’s school, the .
The school’s Director gave all parents $100 to fundraise in any way they could because the school is not privately funded nor does it receive federal funding. So Agnich invested the money in a flock of flamingoes and has been planting them on neighbors’ yards around the Peninsula.
With each “flocking,” comes a note: “You’ve been FLOCKED by Landry Agnich! For a $20 donation to the Jean Weingarten Peninsula Oral School for the Deaf, Kelli & Michael will remove these sexy beasts from your yard. For an additional $5, this flock of very social birds will be moved to the residence or business of your choosing. $5 more guarantees that you won’t be flocked again this year!”
