Young 'At Risk' Peninsula Girls Found By BART PD
Sheriff's officials say the young girls were missing for nearly 24 hours. (breaking)

REDWOOD CITY, CA — Two young girls spent a day on the run from a Redwood City-area temporary housing facility for troubled youth before BART police spotted them and helped return them safely home, sheriff's officials tell Patch. The "at risk" girls, just 13 and 11, were sought by the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office, who put out a public plea for help on Monday.
At about 1 a.m. Monday, Iyana Harris, 13, and Davonye Cummings, 11, walked away from the Your House South facility at 394 Sequoia Ave, according to sheriff's Det. Sal Zuno. Because of their age, they were considered at risk.
It wasn't until around 11:30 p.m. that the two girls were ultimately found, Zuno said. They were spotted by BART law enforcement officials in Hayward.
