• 'Inspiring and motivating': Dozens celebrate Richmond Tiny Village grand opening (mercurynews.com) — Richmond residents now have a new Tiny House Village on 23rd Street, offering 24 beds and support services for local 18- to 24-year-olds facing homelessness. Built through broad community effort and backed by $300,000 in city funding, the colorful homes, murals, and shared spaces aim to provide stability, dignity, and a sense of belonging for vulnerable young people.
   

• Dr. Desmond Carson, Physician Who Cared for Richmond, Dies (ccpulse.org) — Richmond is mourning Dr. Desmond Carson, a hometown physician who spent decades caring for West County residents and speaking out for better local health care. • EPA Proposes Plan to Address Lauritzen Channel Contamination at United Heckathorn Superfund Site (epa.gov) — Federal environmental officials are proposing a major cleanup of toxic DDT and dieldrin contamination in Richmond's Lauritzen Channel at the United Heckathorn Superfund Site, and they want your input. The plan includes dredging, capping, and other measures to protect marine life and seafood safety, with a 90-day public comment period and an October 21 meeting at the Richmond Recreation Complex.
