19th Annual National Arts Program Opens In Santa Rosa

This year's exhibition features 185 works by artists of all ages and levels of experience.

SANTA ROSA, CA — The City of Santa Rosa Public Art Program announced the opening Monday of the 19th Annual National Arts Program exhibition and competition.

The program is on display and open to the public through April 29 at the Finley Community Center, 2060 W. College Ave.

The National Arts Program provides Santa Rosa artists of all ages with an opportunity to showcase their artistic accomplishments and encourages artistic growth. This year’s exhibition features 185 works by artists of all ages and levels of experience.

The public is invited to view all the participants’ works in person 8 a.m - 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The awards ceremony and reception are set to take place 3 p.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, March 13, and are also open to the public and at the Finley Community Center. Registration is required to attend the ceremony.

A total of $3,450 in awards will be given out. First-third place cash prizes will be awarded in the professional, intermediate, amateur, teen and youth categories. A Best of Show award of $400 and a Continuing Art Education scholarship award valued at $200 will be presented. Every artist will receive a certificate of participation.

Established in 1985, the National Arts Program is an uninhibited opportunity for all people to present their talents at any level in exhibition, free to artists and the public. It began as a pilot project in Philadelphia and has extended nationally to include 90 venues in over 30 states.
