Sonoma County Warehouse Hit By 4-Alarm Fire

BREAKING: The warehouse is used for storage by Copperfield's Books.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA -- Firefighters are working to extinguish a four-alarm fire that broke out at a warehouse in Santa Rosa the morning of Dec. 14, fire officials said.

The fire was reported at about 2:08 a.m. at 737 Wilson St. The warehouse is used to store books for the Copperfield's Books chain, as well as furniture, vehicles and debris for other businesses, assistant fire marshal Paul Lowenthal said.

Sixteen engines and three ladder trucks responded to the scene, fire officials say.

Crews got the fire under control at about 3:50 a.m. Personnel from the city's public works department are now on the scene with backhoes and tractors to break apart a large amount of debris from the fire, Lowenthal
said.

No injuries have been reported. The fire's cause and origin are under investigation.
