Car Used In Rohnert Park Homicide Turns Up In Clearlake
A gray Acura TSX sought in connection with the fatal shooting Wednesday night has been impounded as evidence, police said in an update.
ROHNERT PARK, CA — A car sought in connection with the fatal shooting of a Cotati man Wednesday night in Rohnert Park turned up Thursday in Clearlake and has been impounded as evidence, the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety said in an update Friday.
Alan Albor, 30, was shot dead around 9 p.m. Wednesday near the entrance to a bank at 250 Rohnert Park Expressway. Rohnert Park DPS said the shooting was believed to be gang-related, and asked the public to be on the lookout for a 2009 or 2010 dark-colored Acura TSX with the possible license plate number of 7EAF822.
Rohnert Park detectives received information at 4 p.m. Thursday that a gray Acura TSX with that license plate number was possibly in Clearlake, some 60 miles north of Rohnert Park.

"Neither the name of the driver nor the specifics of the interview will be released at this time," Rohnert Park DPS officials said Friday. "This investigation is still active and more information will be released as soon as it is developed."
Wednesday night, officers found Albor face down in the westbound lanes of Rohnert Park Expressway near the entrance to a credit union. He suffered a gunshot wound to his upper chest. Officers immediately began life-saving efforts; however, Albor died at the scene, Rohnert Park DPS said.
Through speaking with witnesses and reviewing surveillance video from businesses in the area, investigators determined Albor was sitting in his truck in the parking lot of Redwood Credit Union when a dark-colored sedan entered the parking lot and parked several spaces away from him.
A man got out of the driver's side of the Acura and walked toward Albor's truck, then walked back to the Acura.
While the suspect stood outside the Acura, Albor and another man got out of Albor's truck and walked up to the suspect.
Witnesses told police there was a verbal altercation between the men and the suspect.
The suspect then got back into his car.
Albor then walked up to the driver's side window, at which point witnesses described hearing at least one gunshot.
Albor walked away from the vehicle and collapsed in the roadway.
The suspect vehicle then left the parking lot toward Padre Parkway.
"This incident was not a random act of violence and is believed to be gang related," Rohnert Park DPS said. "The suspect is considered armed and dangerous."
