CHP Officer Has Busy Shifts In Rohnert Park: 2 DUIs; 1 Stolen Car
The suspected impaired drivers were back-to-back busts. The stolen vehicle arrest was made at the casino.

The Rohnert Park office of the California Highway Patrol said Tuesday that one of its officers made two arrests for driving under the influence in a single shift on Monday.
Then, early Tuesday morning, the officer helped apprehend a suspected car thief at a Rohnert Park casino.
CHP Officer Mike Phennicie was patrolling U.S. Highway 101 in the Cloverdale area at 5:50 a.m. Monday when he clocked a Honda Civic traveling at 92 miles per hour.

The driver was later identified as William Payne, a 49-year-old resident of Petaluma, who allegedly showed signs of intoxication and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
After finishing the paperwork associated with Payne’s arrest, Phennicie got back on the freeway in Rohnert Park just as a 911 caller reported a suspected DUI driver nearby.

After pulling over for a few moments, Phennicie observed the driver pass his location in a white Dodge Sprinter van and made a traffic stop. David Stanley, a 44-year-old Cotati resident, allegedly showed signs of drug intoxication and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Then at 2 a.m. Tuesday morning, Phennicie responded to a call involving a stolen vehicle that had been brought back to the scene of the crime at Graton Casino in Rohnert Park. The alleged car thief was in the casino while Phennicie conducted his investigation outside.
John Hamner-Wolfe, a 24-year-old Santa Rosa resident, already had two no-bail warrants for possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, and violating the terms of his probation.
When Hamner-Wolfe attempted to leave the casino he was arrested on those existing warrants as well as suspicion of vehicle theft and possession of methamphetamine.
Deputies with the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office also assisted in that investigation, according to the CHP.
