Cyclist Struck By SUV Succumbs To Injuries
The 67-year-old from Sonoma County was biking on Guerneville Road in Santa Rosa area when crash occurred, CHP said.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA – A Bodega Bay man who was injured when his bicycle collided with an SUV Monday night died this morning, a California Highway Patrol officer said this afternoon.
Gregory Pinard, 67, suffered major injuries when a 1999 Toyota Rav4 struck his Schwinn bicycle from behind on Guerneville Road west of Abramson Road just west of Santa Rosa around 10:45 p.m., CHP Officer Jon Sloat said. He was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
The Toyota's driver, a 55-year-old Santa Rosa woman, said she did not see the bicycle until it was illuminated by her car's headlights and she could not stop in time, according to Sloat.

The collision ejected Pinard backwards into the Toyota's windshield and onto the roadway.The bicycle has a red rear reflector, and the bike may have been on the white line of the shoulder of the road or just over it when the collision occurred, Sloat said.
