Driver Killed After Exiting Car On Highway 101 In Rohnert Park
A man died Sunday after he got out of his car and was struck on Highway 101 in Rohnert Park early Sunday.
ROHNERT PARK, CA — A man died early Sunday after he stopped and got out of his vehicle on Highway 101 in Rohnert Park, officials said.
The driver, who was traveling northbound, north of Rohnert Park Expressway, stopped his gray Nissan in the middle lane and got out of the vehicle around 4 a.m. on Sunday, according to a statement from the California Highway Patrol.
The man was standing near his car when a Ford F-250 rear-ended the Nissan, pushing it forward and striking him. The man landed in the roadway and was then struck by a different truck, a Ford F-150. Police have not released the Nissan driver's identity.

The driver and three passengers in the Ford F-250 were hospitalized with minor injuries and the driver of the F-150 was not injured, police said.
It was unknown whether the Nissan driver stopped due to mechanical reasons or whether he voluntarily came to a stop, police said.
