Duo Caught Breaking Into Rohnert Park School: Police
The first officer at the scene spotted someone's feet hanging out of a school window so he watched and waited in the school's quad area.

ROHNERT PARK, CA — Two 21-year-old men were caught Tuesday night breaking into a Rohnert Park school, according to the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety. Officers responded to Monte Vista Elementary School, 1400 Magnolia Ave., when a burglar alarm was activated at 11:14 p.m. Tuesday, Rohnert Park DPS Sgt. Nick LaBonte said.
The first officer at the scene was doing a security check of the campus when he "saw a suspect crawling into a classroom window headfirst with his feet sticking out," LaBonte said.
When the officer spotted another suspect slide into the school through a window, he went through the school's security fence and waited in the center quad area, LaBonte said.

More officers descended on the campus and set up a perimeter but they did not have to wait too long for movement.
"Officers then saw two suspects crawl out of the window carrying property they had stolen from inside the classroom," LaBonte said.

The two suspects were taken into custody without incident.
Rohnert Park police identified the pair as Justin Andrew Oliver and Noah Taylor Evans, both residents of Rohnert Park and both 21 years old.
Police described the stolen property as computer equipment and general classroom items.
A search of the campus was conducted but no additional suspects were found, nor do police believe there were any other suspects involved in the break-in, LaBonte said.
Evans and Oliver were taken to the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility, where they were booked on suspicion of burglary and conspiracy. Both have since been released from custody, jail records showed. It should be noted that in order to limit the potential spread of coronavirus among inmates, the Sonoma County jail is not presently keeping many new inmates unless they are booked on suspicion of crimes such as domestic violence and some other serious offenses.
"This is a good reminder to all that even during the shelter-in-place order, Rohnert Park Police Officers are still out in force patrolling our community to ensure the safety and security of its citizens," LaBonte said.
